Jaree's S.O.A.P.S.

Post  Jaree on January 16th 2008, 8:45 am

S: The LORD was with Joseph and he prospered, and he lived in the house of his Egyptian master. Gen 39:2

O: The Lord brings good things to those who trust him in all situations

A: I will trust that in every situation, good and bad, the Lord will provide for my every need and then some.

P: Lord, I pray that You will help me remember the promises of God everyday so that I will be content in my life and the things that I have been blessed with. In Jesus name, Amen.

S: Ps 5:12 For surely, O LORD, you bless the righteous;
you surround them with your favor as with a shield.

O: The Lord will show favor & goodness to those who live in righteousness

A: I will remember that the Lord will protect me from those who attack me or the from the world, if I am living the life He wants me to

P: Lord I ask that I would be reminded to make a conscious decision to walk in the path you have for me, so that when life comes against me You can protect me from harm. In Jesus name, Amen.

S: 38Therefore, in the present case I advise you: Leave these men alone! Let them go! For if their purpose or activity is of human origin, it will fail. 39But if it is from God, you will not be able to stop these men; you will only find yourselves fighting against God."

O: If someone is doing their own will, it will eventually fail. However if it is the will of God, it will always succeed.

A: I must strive to always be doing the will of God and focus on that, not on what others are doing, time will tell what is of God and what is not.

P: Lord, thank You for having a plan and purpose for me. I ask that You help me keep to that path and stay focused on my walk with You instead of others. In Jesus name, Amen.

S: All who were sitting in the Sanhedrin looked intently at Stephen, and they saw that his face was like the face of an angel. Acts 6:15

O: Everyone could see innocence in Stephen even though there were witnesses saying otherwise.

A: I need to face my enemies and know that the truth will always shine through.

P: Lord I ask that I not be persuaded by the lies of the enemy and that I would be ready to stand strong against them and let Your Truth be known, Amen.

S:However, I consider my life worth nothing to me, if only I may finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the gospel of God's grace. Acts 20:24

O: My life is not important, it's the end goal to strive for: sharing the Gospel only by God's grace.

A: I need to surrender my life to the Lord's will of sharing the Gospel and testifying to what God has done.

P: Lord I thank You that You have given me a voice to speak Your words, I ask that I would have boldness and sensitivity at the same time to share Your Word and works with others in Your timing, worrying not about what people will think of me. In Jesus name, Amen!

S: Whether the cloud stayed over the tabernacle for two days or a month or a year, the Israelites would remain in camp and not set out; but when it lifted, they would set out. At the LORD's command they encamped, and at the LORD's command they set out. Acts 9:22-23

O: The Israelites waited patiently for God's command and did not question it when it came.

A: I need to listen patiently for God's direction in my life, to stay where I am until He tells me to move. I need to be sure of His path for me when He shows me the next step.

P: Lord I thank you that I have ears to hear and a heart to receive the things You have for me. I ask that as I struggle to find direction, that You would speak clearly to my spirit; yes- no- wait. and that I would be happy with whatever answer You give me. In Jesus name, Amen.

S: I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me. Gal 2:20

O: I am a new creation in Christ and live each day for Him by Him.

A: I must trust each situation and event to God and His plan, knowing that if things are bad, they will get better.

P: Lord thank You for Your sacrifice, to show ultimate unconditional love. Help me daily to walk with You to shine for You.

I read Gal 5 today and tried to pick just one or two things out, but I couldn't. The whole chapter was just so fitting to my life right now. Sometimes God gives you the short version, but other times you need the long version and i'm just thankful that I can be humble enough to accept that I need the long version!!

S: Your path led through the sea, your way through the mighty waters, though your footprints were not seen. Psalms 77:19

O: He is always walking with us, even when we can see no evidence of it.

A: I need to take peace in knowing with my heart, not my head, that God is always watching over me.

P: Lord I ask that you would give me a divine peace in knowing You are with me always to guide my steps in the direction you would lead me.
