John 6:63 The Spirit alone gives life...

"The Spirit alone gives eternal life. Human effort accomplishes nothing. And the very words I have spoken to you are spirit and life."

We need Jesus for life, and we are to live in the Spirit. Nothing on this earth, nothing born of the flesh can satisfy or sustain us. We are to make Jesus the core of our being, to make Him and His teachings our very life, not just an intellectual activity. As we feed our body with food, we are to feed our soul with the spiritual reality represented by the body and blood of Christ.

Father, my prayer is to be able to have this teaching sink into the core of me, so that I can grasp the true meaning of these powerful words of Jesus'. Help me, I pray, to make this be true of my life and my walk with You, Lord. Help me to always live by Your Word and teach it to my children and be Your light that shines in the darkness wherever I go. In Jesus name. Amen
